Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) provides guidance on the principles, processes and tools that could be applied to manage programmes in any environment. It is less detailed and prescriptive than the equivalent method for projects (PRINCE2) and at its highest level demands much more of the practitioner.
There are three levels of qualification within MSP, based not only on knowledge gained in the classroom but at Practitioner level, from the delegate’s own personal experience. We use the new MSP 2011 Materials

Provide Programme Support
Are a Business Change Manager
Manage the Programme
Are the Senior Responsible Owner
Are on the Programme's Sponsoring Group
You should have at least an awareness of the concepts, elements and benefits of "MSP" and as Program Manager - be proficient in its use.
Following successful completion of the 3.5 day Foundation Course, candidates can take the Practitioner Course on Days 4-5, and sit for the 2.5 hour Practitioner exam.
