PMIQ Informal Christmas Drinks Based on an initiative by some of our fellow members we would like to invite you to come along to an informal Christmas drinks / get together PMIQ Evening Discussion Groups November Discussion Group hosted by Robert Walters (www.robertwalters.com): “Scheduling tips and tricks” 5:30pm for 5:45pm and concluding around 7:30pm. Please take the lift to level 27, note that the doors to the building are locked at 6:00pm so don’t be late! Drinks and nibbles will be served. The PMIQ Evening Discussion Groups are intended to be quite different from the regular chapter meetings and indeed a typical presentation. They are a forum for lively discussion around a Project Management Issue. Open to all PMIQ members, the discussions are facilitated to enable all participants to contribute. Notes are made during the discussion and a summary posted on the PMIQ website. Participants will be invited to suggest topics for future discussions. Participation in the Discussion Group will earn 1.5 PDU. Hays Salary Survey 2008 Details of the latest Hays Salary Survey were presented at the July chapter meeting. You can download the cutdown version of the report HERE. 5-Steps Scheduling Training Course We received excellent feedback from this course. Others will be organised in 2009. Certification Study Group PMP AND CAPM STUDY GROUPS STARTING Feb 09 The first round of PMP and CAPM study groups are planned for next year, with a Kickoff Information Session at The Irish Club, 175 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane QLD 4000 (opposite the main entrance of the Brisbane Hilton) on Wednesday 11 February at 5.45pm Study groups are self-help activities run by the participants themselves and coached by a certified PMP. Each session consists of a topic prepared and presented by a participant, practice questions and of course networking with practising project managers. Study groups are free and exclusive to all PMIQ members and are a great way to help you prepare for your PMP and CAPM exams. Please contact our Certification Director Leon Tighe as soon as possible at certification@pmiqld.net.au if you would like any additional information.
